How to Make Your Content Easier on the Eyes

To be honest, no one particularly enjoys reading seemingly endless blocks of text. You probably never enjoyed doing it in high school, and you probably don’t enjoy doing it now. Your readers may feel the exact same way.

Simply put, writing fantastic content isn’t worth anything if you make it difficult for readers to read what you’ve written. How do you make your blog entries easier on the eyes? Here are three tips you should try:

Post Pictures and Videos

Use a nice picture that complements the topic your entry is discussing; better yet, embed a short video clip if possible. Either method provides a place of rest for the eyes of your readers and supplements the message brought about by what you’ve written.

Use Headings and Subheadings

Most web users have a tendency to skim the content they read in an attempt to find the information they are looking for quickly. Give your readers what they want. By adding headings and subheadings to your blog entries, you convey your thoughts efficiently and make it easier for them to locate the info they need.

Change your Color Scheme

Nothing strains eyes quite like reading light-colored text placed on a dark background. In fact, studies have shown that such a color scheme is 26 percent less legible than dark-colored text on a light background. A simple switch in color scheme can improve the readability of your content dramatically.
